‘A great day’ for my family, Trump says as he leaves Capitol

President Donald Trump is returning to the White House this weekend, and his daughters will be among those celebrating the occasion.

On Friday, Trump and first lady Melania Trump are slated to arrive in the Capital to spend the day at the National Mall with family members.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Associated Press.

The event will mark Trump’s first visit to the National Capitol since his inauguration in January.

The president has repeatedly said he will not leave the Capitol until it’s fully secured.

“As we have said from the start of our administration, the Capitol is a magnificent building and we will not let anyone tear it down,” Trump said Friday morning, referring to a tweet the president had posted earlier in the day.

“We will have no retreat or retreat to any side.

The Capitol is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

It is a symbol of our great country and a place where we all can come together to celebrate our nation’s achievements.”

The event comes as the White Houses office of national security, led by former FBI Director James Comey, prepares to begin the process of closing the facility.

That process will likely take weeks, and Trump has yet to announce any plans to vacate the building.
